Spritz Beton and concrete additives

Spritz-beton, or shotcrete, can be defined as a cementitious mixture projected at high speed onto a surface, where placement and compaction occur in a single operation. These mixtures must have an instant setting (‘flash set’), which is achieved by adding setting accelerators to the mix.

These additives become essential when concrete needs to be sprayed onto surfaces affected by water infiltration, or when a rapid lining in a tunnel is required due to the presence of loose rock layers with an imminent risk of detachment, or when rapid development of mechanical strength is necessary.

Prochin Italia produces accelerator additives for spritz-beton based on silicates and alkali-free formulations.
