Welding and Foundry

Welding electrodes have the wire coated with mineral powders bound with sodium or potassium silicate. The silicate acts as a binder and also facilitates the extrusion process and the alkalis necessary for controlling the gas emissions of the electric arc. Particular results have been achieved in the reduction of chromium emissions. Used as a binder for the molding of cores and core boxes with the CO2 process.
